Bellows-sealed shut-off valve - Leak-free and durable industrial valve
Bellows-sealed shut-off valves are important components in industrial applications that require a high degree of tightness and reliability. A metal bellows between the spindle and housing ensures a hermetic seal that prevents the escape of media and thus contributes to the safety and efficiency of the systems. The multi-layer stainless steel bellows (X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2) ensure permanent tightness and minimise the risk of leaks. The bodies of these valves are made of materials such as ductile cast iron (EN-GJS-400-18-LT), grey cast iron (EN-GJL-250) and cast steel (1.0619), which are tailored to the various industrial requirements. They are equipped with flange connections in accordance with DIN/EN standards, which facilitates integration into existing systems. They are available in nominal diameters from DN15 to DN250 and pressure ratings from PN10 to PN40 and are suitable for different operating conditions. They also have certifications such as TA Luft in accordance with ISO 15848-1, which emphasises their suitability for applications with high tightness requirements. Thanks to their robust design and high tightness, bellows-sealed shut-off valves are ideal for steam and hot water systems, the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, where they ensure safe shut-off and efficient media control.

Advantages of the bellows-sealed valves
1. The biggest advantage of a bellows valve is its double sealing (bellows + packing). Even if the bellows fail, the stem packing prevents leakage and meets international sealing standards.
2. It minimises the loss of the medium and ensures the safety and protection of the environment. This ultimately improves the safety of the plant in which the bellows valve is installed.
3. It can act as an energy saver as it helps minimise energy loss due to leakage.
4. As leakage is minimised, frequent maintenance of the valve is avoided. It therefore leads to a longer life of the valve.
5. Due to the longer service life, the operation and maintenance costs are significantly reduced.
6. The robust design of the bellows seal ensures that no leakage occurs at the valve stem, creating maintenance-free conditions.
7. The safety of working personnel is improved by the installation of a bellows valve, as emissions of flammable, toxic and hazardous chemicals can be minimised.
