A shut-off valve is a type of valve used to regulate or shut off the flow of fluid in a pipeline. The shut-off valve is designed for manual operation and can be opened or closed by turning a handle or lever. When the shut-off valve is open, the fluid flows freely through the pipeline, and when it is closed, the flow is completely stopped. The shut-off valves are often used in emergency situations to quickly shut off the flow of liquid in the event of a leak or other dangerous situation.

Flanged Shut-Off Valve

A flanged shut-off valve is an essential component of many industrial and domestic pipework systems used to regulate the flow of liquids or gases. Flanged shut-off valves are available in stainless steel, ductile iron, grey cast iron and steel. Due to their durability and corrosion resistance, shut-off valves are often used in water treatment, heating systems and the chemical industry.

A shut-off valve plays a crucial role in a steam system as it ensures the control and safety of the system. In such systems, it is important to precisely control the flow of steam and shut it off completely if necessary. Shut-off valves for steam, such as the Persta shut-off valve or the KVN shut-off valve, are specially designed for high temperatures and pressures and provide a reliable seal. These valves allow precise control or complete interruption of the flow, which contributes to the efficiency and safety of the entire system. Important aspects when selecting a shut-off valve are the pressure rating, the material and the compatibility with the respective medium.

Shut-Off Valves From FERGO

PERSTA Valve 200 AE

Fergo offers Persta valves made of bodies in forged steel (P250GH/1.0460). Persta valves are offered from size DN 15 - DN 200 with flange connection PN10-16-25-40 standard (EN) DIN flanges EN1092-1 Form B1 PN40. Persta valve 200 AE body seat is armored 17% CR and its operating pressure is 40 bar. Persta valve 200 AE is designed according to DGRL/AD2000 A4/TRD110.

Flow media Depending on the choice of material, the valves can be used for water, steam, gas, oil and other non-aggressive media. Persta 200 AE areas of application are in chemical, industrial, and power plant plants as well as in shipbuilding.

KVN Piston gate valve

KVN Piston gate valve in straight-way form, sealed by elastic valve rings: graphite, lug plate reinforced, impregnated, body made of GGG40.3 (EN-JS 1049) and bonnet made of cast steel GS-C25 (1.0619), face-to-face dimensions according to EN 558-1 GR1, temperature application range from -10°C to +400°C, connecting flanges according to EN 1092-2, CE marking.

Shut-off valves for steam systems

The shut-off valves UV116, UV216 are manual valves for closing media flows. They are characterised by high tightness. Their advantage is their compact design. They are equipped with an inverted seat that allows the gland to be replaced during operation when the valve is open. Application: These valves are intended for use in heating systems, especially in hot water pipes, UV216 in steam circuits, if applicable. The wide range of nominal sizes offered enables the use of these valves from the smallest flow rates (e.g. sampling valves) to the largest volume flows on main pipeline lines. Working media: the valves are suitable for shutting off water, air and other neutral media compatible with the material of the valve. Installation positions: The valves can be installed in any position, but it must be ensured that the operator has sufficient space to operate the handwheel. The direction of flow is determined by the arrows on the body. Opposite flow direction is permissible with limited shut-off pressure drop values.
