Gland Packing or Bellows – This is what the Right Seal Looks Like
When absolute leak tightness and low maintenance are required, it pays to take a closer look at the sealing technology. This is especially crucial for emissions control. The typical designs are:
- Globe Valve with Gland Packing: Our proven classic relies on high-quality graphite gland packings. These withstand high temperatures (up to 400°C) and are suitable for a wide range of media.
- Globe Valve with Bellows Seal: The ultimate in terms of tightness and emission control. Virtually maintenance-free and the first choice when maximum safety is critical.
Shut-off valve for steam: What you need to consider
Shut-off valves for steam systems must withstand particular stresses. High temperatures, thermal cycles and the aggressive nature of steam require a special design.
For steam applications, we recommend valves with a robust design and suitable material combinations. Our flanged shut-off valves made of 1.0619 steel are designed for maximum operating temperatures of up to 400°C. The graphite gland packing ensures reliable sealing even at these temperatures.
