People often mix up plug valves and ball valves, but they're not quite the same thing

Plug valve: This one uses a plug (shaped sort of like a cylinder or a cone) to control the flow. The seal happens where the sides of the plug touch the inside of the valve body. Plug valves usually handle thick, sticky, or harsh stuff without a problem, and they're solid even when things get hot.

Ball valve: Here you've got a ball with a hole through it. When you turn the handle, the hole lines up or blocks the flow. Ball valves usually seal using soft seats - think PTFE - pushed up against the ball, so they're quick to shut off and do a great job with liquids and gases.

T4E1 Durco Plug Valve Flowserve

Flowserve Durco Plug Valves 

Flowserve's Durco range of lined plug valves offers robust solutions for demanding corrosive applications. The T4E series features PFA-lined bodies and comes in three standard configurations: the T4E2 (DIN) with face-to-face dimensions per DIN EN 558 Series 1 and flanges per DIN EN 1092-2 PN16 from DN 15 to DN 150; the T4E1 (ANSI) with a short ASME B16.10 pattern and ASME B16.5 Class 150 flanges from ½" to 14"; and the T4E3 (ANSI) with an ASME B16.10 pattern and ASME B16.5 Class 300 flanges from ½" to 12"; all feature a reduced bore. For high-purity services, the Sleeveline G4 series eliminates the cavity. The G4E (ANSI) combines a DIN EN 558-1 face-to-face with DIN EN 1092-2 PN40 flanges (DN 15-150). The G411 (ANSI) and G431 (ANSI) models follow ASME B16.10 dimensions with Class 150 and Class 300 flanges per ASME B16.5, respectively, both ranging from ½" to 8" with a reduced bore.

Kükenhahn oder Kugelhahn - wo ist eigentlich der Unterschied?

Die beiden werden oft in einen Topf geworfen, unterscheiden sich aber deutlich:

Kükenhahn (Plug Valve): Hier dichtet ein zylindrisches oder konisches Küken gegen das Gehäuse ab. Ideal für zähe, schleifende Stoffe oder hohe Temperaturen.

Kugelhahn (Ball Valve): Funktioniert mit einer Kugel mit Loch - abgedichtet wird meist mit weichen, an die Kugel gepressten Sitzen. Damit schaltet man Gase oder Flüssigkeiten im Handumdrehen ab.
