What is a lift check valve?
A lift check valve is a backflow preventer with a vertically guided disc. Forward media pressure pushes the disc up against spring force. On reverse flow or pressure drop the disc falls instantly back onto the metallic seat. Compared to a swing check valve, the lift check valve closes faster and provides surge-free shut-off. Face-to-face length and flange drilling follow EN 558-1 Series 1 and EN 1092-1/-2.

For steam and high-temperature service choose RV430 (steel) or RV450 (stainless). For water and heating with moderate conditions choose ZV116 (cast iron) or ZV216 (ductile iron). The check valve stainless steel (RV450) is the first choice for corrosive media in chemical processing.

For steam and high temperature the flanged lift check valve is the safest choice. For compact installations compare our disc check valves. For large lines from DN250 choose swing check valves.

A flanged lift check valve suits applications where high pressure, high temperature or corrosive media demand a robust flanged connection. In steam and condensate systems the RV430 (steel) protects the line downstream of steam traps from backflow and pressure surges. In the chemical industry the check valve stainless steel RV450 secures reactive process lines. In power plants and district heating the ZV series (ZV226, ZV236 with bellows seal) provides hermetically tight backflow protection.
