Rubber expansion joints for pipelines are found in heating and HVAC systems for vibration isolation of circulating pumps, in water supply networks and sewage treatment plants, in industrial process pipelines in the chemical and food industries, and in shipbuilding and offshore applications where rubber-metal pipe connectors are preferred for their high mechanical robustness. They are equally indispensable in building services to reduce pump noise and pipe vibrations in residential and commercial buildings to a minimum. The elastomer material – EPDM for water and heating, NBR for oil and gas – is selected according to the medium and operating temperature.
